Dennis Deane

Senior Information Technology Executive

With decades of experience in the IT Industry, Dennis Deane has held a number of senior management roles. He functions comfortably at the board level and instills confidence in others who have recognized his track record and ability to deliver large-scale, successful programs. 

A natural manager and high achiever with a reputation for being tough but fair, Deane has built a number of loyal and multi-skilled teams. Entrepreneurial by nature with excellent business acumen, he is a skilled negotiator who secures the best results in commercial undertakings. With sound budgetary and fiscal knowledge, he has produced IT Value Driver plans for a number of takeovers and mergers totaling more than $1 billion. His most recent assignments have involved Mergers & Acquisitions, Business Transformation, Data Center Rationalization, and IT and Business Integration programs. 

With more than 40 years experience in the IT industry, Deane has worked in a number of vertical markets including manufacturing, consulting, investment banking and financial services.  He spent the earlier part of his career working for Ford Motor Company running Data Center Operations and International networks. In addition, he worked for Coopers & Lybrand setting up Data Centers and International networks internal to the company.  He also provided interim management and IT business rationalization to the TSB Trust Company and Hill Samuel investment bank, resulting in 20 percent in savings.

Deane formed his own company as a distribution channel and reseller for ACER computers, the first in England. He built large scale co-location data centers in Europe of more than 100,000 square feet each for Global Center and Global Crossing with budget responsibilities of more than $35 million per center. 

Working for Citibank/Citicorp, Deane was responsible for the move of three data centers across London to new premises. He ran the largest dealing floor in London post “big bang” and managed the disposal of IT assets for the Citicorp Scrimgeour Vickers shutdown. As IT Director for ABN AMRO Bank NV London, Deane directed and managed all of the stock, money and portfolio dealing and trading floor environments, including infrastructure and application support. He also managed its move across London to new premises. 

As Director, Computer Services for Reuters EMEA, Deane was responsible for all Data Center Infrastructure delivery internal to Reuters. While working for First Data International, Deane ran multiple Data Center Infrastructures across EMEA, defining IT Strategy and Architecture, managing more than 400 employees and budgets in excess of $100 million.

While at First Data International, Deane was the lead IT representative on more than 15 newly acquired companies, which involved due diligence over 35 deals throughout Eastern Europe, Russia and the Baltic States.  He created and implemented IT and business integration value driver plans and served as interim CIO, post merger.  Returns on investment reached more than 20 percent.
