Staci Busby is an innovative public relations professional with nearly 20 years of communications experience in corporate, non-profit and agency environments. As an independent public relations consultant, Busby helps her clients shape their reputation in the marketplace through strategic marketing communications programs. Busby is an accredited public relations counselor, serving clients in diverse industries including technology, electronic payments, financial services, and hotel renovation. She also provides political communications consulting.
Prior to starting her own PR firm, Busby was Vice President of Corporate Communications at First Data Corporation serving in roles ranging from executive and employee communications to crisis communications and media/analyst relations. In these roles, Busby developed and executed the communications strategy for a $29 billion buyout of the company, helped spin off its $4 billion Western Union business unit and integrated numerous acquisitions. Through effective brand building campaigns, Busby positioned the company as a global leader and served as the company spokesperson through significant cultural transformations.
While at Clarus Public Relations agency, Busby launched more than a dozen fast growing companies, taking many of them public, including firms in telecommunications, financial and legal services, high-tech education and communications services. Prior to that, she led communications and public affairs teams at the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and a Colorado trade association.
Active in several community organizations, Busby is a co-founder of OneCure Membership Club, Colorado State University Animal Cancer Research Center, a past board member and Communications Council chair at Family Tree, Inc. and former director for the Public Relations Society of America. She is a graduate of the Leadership Denver program. Busby attended Colorado State University and received a bachelor’s degree in journalism with a concentration in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish.
